Meeting the football players

On our trip to the Wiesbaden Middle and High School we also visited the football players. It was very cool to see how they practice and play because we never saw something like that. Some of us tried on the equipment of the players. The rest stood next to the football field. It was very funny to see our classmates with the equipment because it was too big for them.

A few days after the trip we did an interview with some people of our class. Our first question was what they had liked the best with the football players. Some of them said that for them the best had been to see the big goals and the football field. Other students answered that the best for them had been to try to play with the equipment. And another answer was that the footballers had been the best.

Then we asked if they could imagine playing football as a hobby. Some answered that they could not imagine that because of the hard practice. Other classmates replied that they could imagine playing football in their leisure time, but we do not have a football team at our school!

After that we asked just the students who had put on the equipment. We wanted to know why they had participated. They answered that they had wanted to know what it was like and also just because of the fun.

The next question was for all classmates again. We asked what they had been surprised about. Some said that they had been surprised that the players were so big. Another answer was how massive the equipment had been and how strong the players had to be to wear all the massive clothes. They were surprised that they could run and throw the balls anyway.

Our last question was if the students who did not wear the clothes of the football players regretted that they had not done it. Some answered:” Yes, because they had a lot of fun.” But other classmates said that they had had fun anyway and that it had been quite enjoyable.
